 That is about as unlucky as you can get! What unlucky effects will it have on mermaids?
1. They are a mermaid for a full day.

2. They lose all of their powers.

3. They become mermaids forever.

4. They gain control over when they want to turn into a mermaid.

5. They switch bodies.

Blood Moon

If you are in North America tonight, you're in luck! The total Lunar Eclipse will take place. It is when the Earth's shadow blocks out moonlight and the moon will appear to be red. Hence the name Blood Moon. Don't miss it!

Does a Blood Moon have any special effects on mermaids? There are many theories to test.
Theory 1: Anyone in a moon pool any place around the world will get all mermaid powers. Moving water, freezing, heating, and gel. They will be a very powerful mermaid or mermen.
Theory 2: The moon will take away all mermaid powers even if they are not in the moon pool.
Theory 3: The mermaid's powers will be strengthened.
Theory 4: The moon will have no affect whatsoever on humans or mermaids.
Theory 5:  All mermaids will fall under the spell of the moon and not be able to fight it.

The Glowing Sphere

The December moon came and went. It rose high into the air on December 15, 2014. A new year! If there was a full moon on New Year's Eve, would that have a big effect like planetary alignments or the solar eclipse. Would a Lunar eclipse have special powers over the mermaids? We can only imagine what else could have happened if the H2O television series had gone on for a fourth season, which is why fans have created a fourth season!

Even More Moon Magic!

Everyone knows what the moon does. It makes the mermaids crazy or tries to warn them about a comet trying to destroy the earth. It might even try to bring a half merman a trident. All in all, the full moon is very powerful. Still, there are some full moons that are even more powerful than the (not so ordinary) full moons. First, there is a solar eclipse. As seen from the Earth, a solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the Sun and Earth, and the Moon fully or partially blocks the Sun. If mermaids are in the moon pool at this time, they will lose their powers for twelve hours. 
Another EXTREMELY powerful full moon is when the planets align. This is even more powerful than the solar eclipse. It will take away a mermaid's powers, but not for twelve hours. FOREVER!You have to be in the moon pool for it to take away your powers.  December 17, 2013 is luckily not a solar eclipse or including planetary aligments.

Note: Full mermaids are not affected by full moons. In fact, they quite enjoy it. The moon is worshiped by full mermaids.

Sunrise Again

Another full moon has passed, and mermaids will be careful around the next full moon. The most recent full moon was Sunday, September 17, 2013. The next one will also be on the seventeenth, only December 17, 2013. The moon makes mermaids do crazy things. Charlotte practically exposed the mermaid's secret to Ash, and if Emma had not told him he probably would have figured it out on his own. Charlotte stepped out and looked straight at the full moon on purpose, despite many warnings. Had it not been the power of the full moon, Charlotte may not have taken such drastic measures. Charlotte can seem humble, pitiful, and kind, but she has gone too far in stealing Cleo's necklace, trying to take away the mermaid's powers, and telling Lewis he was not allowed to talk to three of his closest friends. In seasons one and two, the moon made the mermaids do crazy things, but in season three, the water turned against them.

The Magic Nights

Friday, October 18, 2013's full moon has ended. Did anyone become a mermaid? The next full moon will be on Sunday, November 17, 2013. The full moon is full of mystery and magic. It can do many things, and is very unpredictable. Sometimes, it is a mermaid's friend. Other times, it seems to work against them. One of the most wondrous powers of all that the moon possesses is that it can turn a human into a half mermaid/merman. Mako Island is not the only place to become a mermaid. Bella was transformed all the way back in Ireland, which is very far from the moon pool. There seems to be no age limit on turning into a mermaid. Bella turned into a mermaid at the age of nine, when Cleo, Emma, and Rikki transformed when they were fifteen.

Mako Moon

As of right now, the full moon has risen! It has completely changed peoples lives, turning them into either half-mermaid or half mer-man. It caused Zac to discover Lila, Nixie, and Sirena's secret. Cleo, Rikki, and Bella thought that the full moon was sending water to hurt them, but it was really trying to give them a message, letting them save the world.

Full Moon Update

The September full moon came and went. It was on Thursday, September 19, 2013. Now the next full moon will happen on Friday, October 18, 2013. Remember, nothing good really ever happens during full moons, especially when the girls wreak havoc on Lewis's boat. This is the fourth time the full moon occured.

It was a time to celebrate when Cleo, Rikki, and Emma did not completely lose control over the full moon. They all went camping on Mako Island and managed to stop Charlotte from becoming a mermaid. However, she still managed to become one in the end. There are many times when the moon has done crazy things to mermaids. Keep your blinds closed! Also, don't look at the reflection of the moon and DO NOT touch water.

During their first month as mermaids, Emma was affected. During her father's party, she turned into a mermaid and would not turn back into a human. Emma had quite the taste for fish and ate three whole platters of it. she was extremely rude to everyone, and was quite out of character.

The second time the girls experienced the full moon was when Cleo fell under the spell and sang like a siren.

The third full moon was the worst, Rikki's powers became out of control. She set half of Mako Island on fire! Worst of all, she kissed Zane! Watch how her powers are under control, until the full moon. 

Plenty of bad things happen during the full moon, so be careful!
