Leo, Bill, and Willa were at Rikki's cafe. Leo was drinking wheat grass, Bill was drinking a mango smoothie, and Willa had a cup of hot chocolate. Bill turned ever so slightly toward Willa's cup. He turned the bottom of it to gel and the rest over-flowed. It spilled all over Willa! Rikki held out some napkins, but Willa sprinted for the bathroom. She knew that her legs would be no more in only ten seconds. Rikki watched the girl suspiciously. She'd had to run like that for several occasions and wondered why Willa would do it.
Later that evening, Rikki, Cleo, Emma, Bella, Lewis, Ash, and Will were having lunch together and discussing.
"You don't think any of your children inherited any of your powers, do you?" asked Rikki suddenly.
"I never thought of that," said Lewis, "It is possible that their fish-like genes could be in them. However, they might have only part of our powers. For example, Leo might be able to move water but not turn into a merman."
The next day, Willa was swimming when she saw something that shocked her. It was another mermaid! She had red hair and could obviously hold her breath for a long time.

Fan Fiction: The Next Generation
Cleo, Rikki, and Bella finished college and returned home, where Cleo married Lewis and Bella married Will. Rikki came with them but never married. Instead, she started running Rikki's when Zane went elsewhere for business. Cleo and Lewis had a child named Leo while Bella gave birth to Bill. One year later they had Willa. Shortly afterward, Emma and Ash came to Australia with news that they had married. Although the three children did not tell their parents, they each had a secret.
Leo was top of his class and had special abilities with breathing underwater. He had been able to hold his breath for 21 minutes before returning to the surface.
Bill loved playing tricks on his sister. His power to turn water into gel and glass helped him follow through with many of his tricks. He would never dream of telling Bella and Will about his power.
Willa, the youngest of the three, had an unusual ability. Whenever she touched water, she would turn into a mermaid ten seconds later. Willa could not swim fast, hold her breath for a long time, or have any special powers. She only had a tail, a big, orange, scaly tale.
